Project history

Former Italian Dogali. One of first "Elswick" cruisers, bought in 1908.

Ship protection

Ship was protected by 51mm deck, 152mm guns were protected by 114mm shields.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

By 1914 Montevideo was laid up to reserve, but after WWI commissioned again.
