Project history

Combattante BR71 design. Programme LEWA-1. 4 ships were ordered in 2003, two more in 2005. Steel hull with aluminium superstructure. ESSM launchers are arranged aside of helicopter hangar. Originally planned 30mm Marlin guns were replaced in final design by 27mm Mauser guns. There is reserved place for mine avoidance sonar, mine countermeasures drones and mine rails.
