Project history

Former US LCI(L) class landing craft infantry, large. They were configured as mortar landing support craft but converted to standard landing craft by Thai Navy before commission.

Modernizations

1992, Prab: - old radar; + 1 x 1 - 76/50 Mk 22, Raytheon 1500B Pathfinder radar

1995, Satakut: - old radar; + 1 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 3, Raytheon 1500B Pathfinder radar

Naval service

Prab was used as pontoon since 1980 but later reinstated as landing ship after refit.
