Project history

Designs were developed on the basis of type B (Otsu-Gata) MTBs of T35 and T38 series respectively. Since 1945 they received torpedo armament and re-rated to MTBs (Raitei).

Modernizations

from mid-1945, most survived: were armed with 1 x 1 - 25/60 96-shiki or 1 x 1 - 13.2/76, 2 - 450 TT.
