Project history

Uses hull of the Mk 10 frigate design but has less powerful propulsion plant and far simpler weapons and electronics. Has a command center with three remote training command spaces, navigational training compartment for 40 trainees, and two other classrooms. Planned 76mm Oto Melara Compact mount forward was not installed, nor was the planned helicopter hangar, although the helicopter platform can accommodate one Sea King helicopter. There is a single remote TVT-300 optical director for the two 40mm gunmounts.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

No significant events.
