Former container ships, requisitioned by MoD and used as aircraft support ships. Aircraft was based on deck and all aircraft equipment was stowed in containers.

Atlantic Conveyor was attacked 25.5.1982 in 90nm NE of Port Stanley (Falklands) by two Argentine Super Etendard fighter-bombers, one AM39 Exoset ASM hit the ships. Atlantic Conveyor sunk 28.5.1982 under tow.
