Project history

The hull, originally built for a crane, was altered and strengthened, fitted with two large guns destined for the battleship Francesco Morosini (construction suspended during 1915-18), protected by two anti-torpedo nets. The guns had 20° of max elevation and could be trained 15° to right and to left.
