Project history

Purpose-built coastal minelayer.

Modernizations

Late 1939: - 2 x 1 - 7.7/87; + 1 x 1 - 76/45 20cwt QF Mk I/II/III/IV

circa 1941 - 1943: + 1 x 1 - 20/70 Oerlikon Mk II/IV, mine stowage was increased up to 100, presumably type 271 radar

Naval service

Plover laid over 15000 mines in days of war.
