Project history

Purchased from J. Lauritzen Lines, Copenhagen. Strengthened for operation in ice. Converted by Harland & Wolff, Belfast in 1967-1968 to an ice patrol ship for southern waters.

Modernizations

1986: - 2 Wasp helicopters; + 2 Lynx helicopters

Naval service

In 1989 Endurance struck an iceberg, she was repaired but decommissioned and sold two years later.
