Project history

1st rate steam vessel, later 2nd class frigate, 6 guns. Sir William Symonds design of 1838. It was first intended to arm her with 22 guns (2 98pdr, 4 48pdr and 16 32pdr) but later middle deck guns were deleted and 48pdr guns were replaced by 68pdr.
