Project history

Ordered in 2007; represents the largest warship construction project given to a private Turkish shipyard to date. Domestic design incorporates numerous signature reduction measures including low acoustic, radar, and infrared signatures. Intended to conduct coastal patrol and antisubmarine surveillance in local waters. Strong sea-keeping qualities allow for operations in up to Sea State 5 conditions. Steel construction.
