Development of Ehrensköld class, the order for building was given out in 1928. They were differed by more powerful machinery, insignificant increased hull length and TTs of new model.

1939, both: new boilers were installed; - 2 x 1 - 40/56; + 2 x 2 - 25/55 K/58 M32
Both ships were lost 17.9.1941 in Haarsfjärden naval base near Stockholm as a result of explosion on destroyer Klas Uggla and subsequent fire. Klas Horn subsequently was salvaged and after repair was commissioned in December, 1943.
