Project history

Utility landing craft. Pabbatha was built on speculation in 1983 and purchased by Sri Lankan navy in 1985. Ranagaja was begun for merchant customer and was taken over by navy during construction.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Kandula was sunk by Tamil Tigers in October 1992. Pabbatha was sunk by Tamil Tigers 22.2.1998. Ranagaja was damaged by Tamil Tigers in October 1995 but was repaired.
