Built in Abo as mine transport for Kronshtadt naval base, officially was registered under War Department.

Since 27.2.1927 she was used as survey vessel, 1.1.1932 renamed Azimut. 31.7.1941 she was armed and converted to netlayer, but 18.10.1941 re-classified again as survey vessel. 22.11.1941, at passage from Hanko, Azimut was mined and has sunk off Kalbodagrund bank.
