Project history

"Small gunboats", later development of project 161. Differed from predecessor by new main engines (diesels) and fitting of turrets with 85mm guns from new tank T-34-85.

Ship protection

Belt had 20mm thickness abreast citadel and 8mm at ship ends; protective deck was 20mm over citadel and 9mm at ship ends.
