Project history Designation Project 206F, planned as series of fifteen ships with construction scheduled for 1957. Design modified as compared with the Project 254 with more compact layout,

Designation Project 206F, planned as series of fifteen ships with construction scheduled for 1957. Design modified as compared with the Project 254 with more compact layout, flush deck and close range weapon added. However because of financial and technical problems (short delivery of Fiat engines) only twelve ships were built.

Modernizations

1980s, mostly: - 3 x 2 - 25/80; + 2 x 4 Fasta-4M SAM (16 9M32M Strela-2M), 1 x (2 - 23/87 + 4 Strela-2M SAM) ZU-23-2MR Wrobel-2MR

1999, Mewa, Czajka; 2001, Flaming: - TEM-52M minesweeping gear, Don radar, Tamir-11M sonar; + Ukwial minehunting USV, TEM-PE-2M magnetic minesweeping gear, decompression chamber for mine-disposal divers, 10 sonobuoys, Decca BridgeMaster-E radar, SHL-100AM, SHL-200M-1 sonars, PIT Bren ECM suite, 6x9-81 decoy launchers; diesels were replaced by 2 Sulzer-Cegielski ATL25/30 (3740hp)
