Project history

The acquisition of these Laubeuf type submarines was influenced by the French Naval Mission (1908-14) to Peru. They were transported to Peru in the Kangaroo which had been built specifically to carry submarines. Their careers were shortened due to the scarcity of batteries and spare parts.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

No significant events.
