Modernizations
1992, both: diesels were replaced by 2 General Motors Detroit Diesel 16V71TI (2500hp, 24kts); - 2 x 1 - 20/70, Decca 916 radar; + 2 x 1 - 7.6/90, 2x Raytheon R-81 radars
Naval service
Ligia Elena was sunk in December 1989 during US invasion but later recovered.
