Project history
French Agosta 90B class. First submarine was built entirely in France, three pre-fabricated sections for the second were built in September 1995 - May 1998 and shipped from France to Karachi in 1998 for outfitting and assembly, the third was built in Karachi using about 20% French components and materials. Hamza received AIP system during construction.
Modernizations
2013, Saad: received AIP system, all features became as for S139 Hamza (Khalid is planned to receive)
2020, Khalid (as planned): - type 1007 radaar, DR-3000U EM suite, SUBTICS CCS; + may be ability to carry and launch Babur III CruM, Sharp Eye Doppler submarine radar, ARES-2SC Havelsan ECM suite, Sonar Integrated Submarrine Command and Control system CCS, may be AIP system
