Project history

French Agosta 70 class submarines from the South African order, cancelled after UN embargo declaration and bought by Pakistan in November 1978.

Modernizations

1985-1989, both: + ability to launch Sub-Harpoon SSM (4 UGM-84A instead of torpedoes); missiles were never transferred to Pakistan

mid-2010s, both: - DSUV-2H, DUUX-2A sonars, ARUR, ARUD ECM suites; + TSM 2233D, TSM 2933D sonars, DR-3000 ECM suite
