Project history

Jaguar ran trials on 15.10.1998 and was handed over about five months behind schedule; she left for the Caribbean during January 1999. Are able to operate in State 4-5 seas. Carry a video camera, audio recording equipment, chemical and gas sensors, and firefighting equipment (including a firefighting monitor on the forecastle and a 2.68m³ foam tank). Thermal-imaging and image-intensification sensors, a secure communications suite, and a gas-tight citadel are fitted. The six-man inspection RIB is carried on an inclined ramp at the stern and can achieve 45kts on its inboard diesel/waterjet propulsion plant; also carried is a 3.8m dory with a 25hp outboard. Have a variant of the Thales SEWACO combat data system to coordinate the various sensor data.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Jaguar suffered a serious fire on 23.5.1999 and was repaired by the builder.
