Project history

Korean-designed, well-armed, fast general purpose frigates built locally by various shipyards. After the first three the next three units ordered in 1981 and the last in 1984. Steel hull with alloy superstructure. These ships lacks helicopter facilities. Netherlands and British electronic equipment. All equipment and armament bought off-the-shelf from European and American manufacturers.
