Project history

Built under 1896-7 Programme under Schichau design. First batch was assembled from German-built kits in Japan, latter boats were built in Japan from imported materials.

odernizations: None.

Naval service

33-go was sunk on German mine in Kiachow Bay 11.11.1914. 34-go and 35-go were sunk by Russian ships at Tsushima 27.5.1905. 47-go foundered in typhoon 22-23.9.1912. 48-go was mined 12.5.1904 NE of Dalny Bay.
