Project history

She was built at Brest as PC1616 under MDAP for Germany. However, she was delivered instead to Ethiopia in 1957 as Belay Deress. She was too sophisticated for the Ethiopian Navy, so she was again transferred under MDAP to Italy. She was delivered on 3 February 1959. After refitting she was classed as a corvette, and was mainly used as a fishery protection vessel.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

No significant events.
