Project history

Whalers, laid down on order of Norwegian and Argentinian companies but purchased by Kriegsmarine during building and commissioned as patrols.

Modernizations

1942, all survived and completed were armed with 1 x 1 - 88/42 SK C/30, (1 - 2) x 1 - 37/80 SK C/30, 6 x 1 - 20/65 C/38, 2 DCR.

Naval service

V5307 was bombed by British aircraft E off Stadlandet. NM01 was torpedoed by Soviet submarine Shch-402 27.2.1942 N off Svaerholtklubben. V6606 was lost by unknown cause 9.3.1945.
