Project history

Barges of MZ type (F701-800) were built under German design by Italian shipbuilders with Italian engines and armament; 24 units were captured in September, 1943 and commissioned by Kriegsmarine.

Modernizations

Some boats were rearmed.

Naval service

In operations 17 barges of MZ type were lost. Fate of some craft is unknown.
