Project history

Built under the 1917 programme. Intended for service as decoy ships, therefore had an outline profile of merchant vessel and artillery masked by folding shields.

Modernizations

1930s, Ailette: - 2 x 1 - 65/50; + 1 x 1 - 75/35 M1897

Naval service

Ailette before WWII used for fishery protection and paid off 30.10.1941 in Morocco.
