3rd rank screw frigate with primary steam power and sails as secondary. Screw counterpart of paddle frigate Mogador. Rated as 2nd rank since 1855. Wooden hull.

Modernizations

1855: new armament consisted of 14 x 1 - 223/12 No.1 shell SBML, 20 x 1 - 175/16 36pdr SBML

1856: new engine was installed: 1 4-cyl HSE, direct action, 1530hp, 12.4kts, 2915t displacement, 6.25m mean draught.
