Project history

Originally an Imperial yacht, the Hirondelle was wooden-hulled and ship-rigged. She was later reboilered with Bellevilles.

Modernizations

1870s: + 8 x 5 - 37/17 Hotchkiss, 2 - 356 TT (aw)

1880s: reboilered with 4 Belleville boilers
