Project history

Iron-hulled version of Provence class.

Ship protection

The sides were completely armoured above water with 150mm iron on 380mm wood backing on 20mm hull plating, battery had 110mm iron armour on 380mm wood backing on 20mm hull plating. The CT was apparently roofed and had 100mm sides.
