Project history

Steel hull, ice-strengthened. Usually carried only one Oerlikon.

Modernizations

1970, Telkkä; 1972-1974, Koskelo, Kuikka, Kaakkuri, Kiisla, Kuovi, Kurki, Tavi: diesels were replaced by 2 MTU (2700hp, 23kts), complement was 9 (Telkkä) or 11 (others); - 1 x 1 - 20/70; + ability to mount 1 40mm/60 Mk 7 gun on quarter-deck.
