Project history

Constructed as destroyer escorts, these units were converted to high speed transports while in US service. Chile employed these ships as escorts. These four were transferred instead of three Fletcher class units.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Riquelme was used for spare parts and was not commissioned.
