Project history

Practically sister-ship of Brazilian cruiser Almirante Barroso, Ministro Zenteno had uniform calibre 152mm guns instead of mixed 152mm and 120mm. Typical "Elswick" cruiser designed by P. Watts.

Ship protection

Complete protective deck was 32mm at flat part and had 89mm slopes abreast machinery.
