Project history
Former Dutch frigates of Karel Doorman class, transferred in December 2005 and commissioned by Belgian Navy after refit and modernization 29.3.2007 and 8.4.2008 respectively.
Modernizations
2008, Leopold I; 2010, Louise-Marie: - SH-14D Sea Lynx helicopter; + 1 NH90 helicopter, length oa became 124.3m (helipad was lengthened)
2013, Leopold I: - AR700 ECM suite, SEWACO VIIA CCS; + Seastar radar, APX Vigile ECM suite, SEWACO XI CCS
