Project history

Former Chinese type 021 FACs. Anirban was delivered in 1992 as a replacement for Durnibar badly damaged during the cyclone in April 1991 (but later repaired as patrol).

Modernizations

2002, Salam: diesels were replaced by 2 Paxman 12V185 (4800hp, 24kts, 3460(13)nm); - 4 x 1 Hay Ying-2 SSM, 2 x 2 - 25/80, type 352 radar; + 1 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 7, 1 x 2 - 30/75 GCM-A03, Furuno HR-2010, Anritsu radars

Naval service

Durnibar sunk in river Kamaphuli in April 1991 during cyclone, recovered and recommissioned as patrol craft Salam in 2002.
