Wooden 92-gun screw ship of the line. In 1869 an inspection of the old 91-gun ship of the line showed that the framing was in good condition. She was docked on 2.2.1869 and wooden planks were renewed, she was given a new bow and stem, and the hull above water was rebuilt in iron. She emerged as a casemate ship similar to Lissa. She retained her old machinery but had superheaters to obtain more power.

The belt was 152mm amidships and 102mm fore and aft, it was backed by 787mm wood and extended from 1.7m under wl. Casemate over the belt was protected by 140mm sides and 127mm transverse bulkheads on the 711mm wooden back, it was also closed by 18mm deck.

In 1902 Kaiser was renamed Bellona and became an accommodation hulk. She remained at Pola until the end of the First World War and was transferred to Italy for BU in 1920.
