Project history

Former US Admirable class ocean minesweepers, converted to patrol vessels. Minesweeping equipment was removed, ASW armament was installed.

Modernizations

early 1970s, all: - 1 x 24 Hedgehog ASWRL, 2 DCR, SO radar, QHA sonar; + SPS-53 radar

Naval service

In April 1975 after the fall of Saigon Chi Lăng II and Chí Linh escaped to Philippines. Kỳ Hòa and Hà Hồi were captured by North Vietnam and incorporated by Vietnam People's Navy. Nhut Tảo was sunk 19.1.1974 by Chinese surface ships in the Battle of the Paracel Islands.
