Ship project history: Under the FY1925 program in the USA were been built 6 river gunboats for service on Yellow river in China for protection of American interests.

Modernizations: 1941, Oahu: + 8 x 1 - 7.6/90.

Naval service: Panay was sunk by Japanese aircraft 12/12/1937. Oahu 6/5/1942 was scuttled at Corregidor to avoid capture.
