Project history

Under the FY1925 program the USA built 6 river gunboats for service on Yangtze river in China for protection of American interests.

Modernizations

1941, both: + 10 x 1 - 7.6/90.

Naval service

Luzon 6.5.1942 was scuttled at Corregidor, salvaged by Japanese and commissioned them as Karatsu. 3.3.1944 she was sunk by American submarine. Mindanao 5.5.1942 was sunk at Corregidor by Japanese aircraft.
