Ship project history: Under the FY1925 program in the USA were been built 6 river gunboats for service on Yellow river in China for protection of American interests.

Modernizations: 1941, both: + 10 x 1 - 7.6/90.

Naval service: Luzon 6/5/1942 was scuttled at Corregidor, salvaged by Japanese and commissioned them as Karatsu. 3/3/1944 she was sunk by American submarine. Mindanao 5/5/1942 was sunk at Corregidor by Japanese aircraft.
