Project history

All followed the basic arrangement of the original Thornycroft design with 3 450mm TT and 3 3pdr, both guns and torpedoes being disposed in a triangular layout, one on each side forward and one amidships aft. Though bigger and more seaworthy than their predecessors they were quite overshadowed by the destroyers which were in service in considerable numbers whilst the earliest of these TBs were building.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

TB117 was sunk 10.6.1917 in collision with s/s Kamouraska in the English Channel.
