Ship project history


84-guns 2nd rate two-deckers. Design copied from Canopus (French prize Le Franklin, taken in 1798). This class went through a series of design modifications after the first ship was built.

1861, Bombay: was converted to screw 81-guns 2nd rate two-decker with data as given in the table

Naval service


Bombay burnt 14/12/1864 by accident off Montevideo.
