Project history

Minelaying submarine, built under the 1929 programme. Design was developed by A. Bernardis on a basis of Italian submarine Pisani from which Turkish submarine differed by improved hull form for improvement of stability and speed increase. Single-hulled; Italian-made mines were carried in two horizontal tubes in aft end.

Modernizations

mid-1940s: + 1 x 1 - 20/70 Oerlikon Mk IV.
