Project history

Ordered in 2009; known officially as landing craft tank (LCT). Primarily intended for amphibious assault operations with secondary humanitarian assistance and disaster relief role. Draft has been listed as less than 0.95m forward and less than 2.35m aft when fully loaded. Steel construction. Regular loadout includes 200t of cargo under regular operating conditions, medium load includes 320t or 250 troops, and a maximum of up to 420t can be carried during emergencies at the expense of reduced operating performance. Vehicle deck measures approximately 420m². Top speed of 2 kts is achievable only in lightly loaded configuration.
