Project history

Former British destroyer Radiant. She concerned to R type, but was built under special design of Thomycroft. On trials ship reached 39.67kts. After the First World War she was sold by Admiralty to builder, which 21.6.1920 resold ship to Siam. In September, 1920 destroyer arrived to Siam and was renamed Phra Ruang.

Modernizations

1940s: + 2 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 4

Naval service

In days of Second World War Phra Ruang was used mainly as TS. She was stricken in July, 1959, but long time was used as training hulk. In 2000 the hulk was still afloat.
