Project history

Hysucat 18 design, ordered 23.9.1985. Exceeded the designed displacement by 5.5 tons due to water seepage between the Kevlar outer sheathing and foam-core inner hull wall and failed to make 36-kt contract speed; plans to acquire 12 more were canceled. The design employs catamaran hulls with fixed foils mounted between them.
