Project history

Minelaying submarine representing increased version of Requinul with similar machinery. Project 298 was developed by German-Dutch Ingeenieurkantoor voor Scheepsbouw (IvS). Submarine was built by arsenal in Galatz with technical assistance of Weser AG. Mines were carried in 10 vertical tubes arranged in bulge tanks on 5 on each side. Tactical number S2.

Naval service

5.9.1944 Marsuinul was captured by Soviet troops at Constanza and 14.9.1944 commissioned by Soviet Navy as TS-2.
