Project history

In 1944 in Galatz there was begun a building of four minesweepers of German M1940 type. Ships were commissioned only in 1953-1955 as minesweepers-escorts.

Modernizations

1976-1983, all: VTE were replaced by 2 6KVD43A diesels (2400hp, 17kts, 156t of diesel oil); - 1 x 2 - 37/70; + 2 x 4 Strela-2M SAM (16 9M32M), 1 x 1 - 37/73 70K, 2 x 5 - 252 RBU-1200 ASWRL

Naval service

In 1993 ships were re-rated as corvettes.
