Project history

Former USN Barnegat class seaplane tenders, converted to Coast Guard cutters and transferred to South Vietnam in 1971-1972. In 1975 they escaped from Saigon to Philippines and acquired by Philippine Navy 5.4.1976. Andrés Bonifacio was commissioned 27.7.1976, Gregorio del Pilar 7.2.1977, Francisco Dagohoy 23.6.1979.

Modernizations

1978-1979, all: + 1 x 2 - 40/60 Mk 1 (extremely at the stern, 95.7m length oa), helicopter deck for BO-105
