Project history

Laid down as dispatch vessels for Gouvernementmarine, but during building converted to minesweepers. The design was development of type ABC.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

Endeh 2.3.1942 was sunk by Japanese destroyers Matsukaze and Shiokaze at W coast of Java. Remaining ships (including incomplete) were scuttled at Tanjung Priok 1-2.3.1942. Flores, Fakfak, Garoet, Djember, Grissee, Djombang and Enggano were salvaged by Japanese and commissioned by IJN as auxiliary minesweepers Wa101-107. Wa104 (ex-Djember) was sunk 12.4.1945 by British submarine Stygian. Wa105 (ex-Grissee) was sunk 25.5.1945 by British submarine Trenchant. Remaining ships in 1945 were returned to the Netherlands. Flores, Djombang and Enggano in 1950 were transferred to Indonesia. Djampea was salvaged in 1945 and in 1951 transferred to Indonesia.
