First Dutch purpose-built minesweepers, designed on the basis of construction of German minesweepers of FM type from the First World War period specially for service in colonies. They had a forecastle and simple machinery.

A, B, C and D were scuttled at Surabaya in March, 1942. A, B and C were salvaged by Japanese and commissioned as auxiliary submarine chasers Cha113, Cha112 and Cha116; they were lost 23.6.1945, 4.6.1945 and 13.11.1944 respectively.
